Welcome to the Royal Elementary site. Our theme this year is Setting the Stage for Learning. I am one of the Royal Elementary School assistant principals. I believe that an assistant principal is an integral part of today’s educational system. At RES we endeavor to promote the emotional, social, academic, and career development of students. During the elementary years, students begin to develop academically and this time shapes who they are as learners. It is imperative that assistant principals are present so that they can identify and address needs that students may have so as to further students’ academic achievement. As an assistant principal, I try to take a proactive role and make a difference in the lives of the students. I like the diversity of my duties. Every day is always different and with it brings new challenges.
Here's a little bit about my background....I previously taught math and science for 10 years at Katy ISD and Bellville ISD. I wanted to have more personal interaction with students so I returned to college at Prairie View A & M University. I received my master’s degree in School Counseling and began my counseling career in Katy ISD. I then attended the University of St. Thomas and received my principal’s certificate. This year I will be completing my 6th year with Royal Elementary School. I was the school counselor here at RES for 5 years and I am now the assistant principal.
